About Us

We have enjoyed putting this site together for you, and here is a chance for you to get to know a little about us. My name is Rick Latta, and I was pushed toward natural remedies pretty early on in life. As a kid, I developed a very rare tumor condition on my small intestine, and as a result had to have much of them removed. Consequently, this developed into some pretty serious absorption problems. I learned quickly that this applied not only to food absorption problems, but to major difficulties with medications as well. To this day I am not aware of a single prescription medication that my body can handle, and in fact many of them end up having exactly the opposite effect that they are supposed to have (who wants to be normal, anyway, right?)

I cannot take any antibiotics, yet I have had pneumonia more times than I can count, as well as other infections. Although it sometimes took awhile, I have always managed to get over them through the use of herbs and other natural remedies, along with a lot of prayer.

My parents were told that I had very little chance of ever living past the age of 24, and yet I am now on the back side of 50, and I'm feeling healthier and stronger than I can ever remember feeling before.

In 1996 I was diagnosed with scleroderma, which is a very nasty terminal disease which had been in my family, and I was told I had about 3 years left to live. I was also diagnosed with lupus, fibromyalgia, and Raynaud's syndrome. Because of my body's inability to handle medications, the doctors admitted there was little they could do for me, and encouraged me to continue seeking chiropractic care for a severe spinal injury I had received (I had been paralyzed) and to pursue any natural remedies I could find that my body could tolerate. They wished me well and I was on my way.

After a lot of prayer, and a lot of experimentation with different natural remedies, my health continues to grow stronger every year, and my knowledge and understanding of natural remedies continues to grow as well.

I grew up in Alaska, but currently live in the beautiful mountains of northwest Montana. As a result, I have always enjoyed the natural side of things, and living in the great outdoors. My partner and fiancee, Mary, and I currently live just outside of Bigfork, Montana, and we love enjoying numerous outdoor activities together, from boating on the numerous lakes in our area to picking huckleberries (Mary's favorite!) on the nearby mountainsides.

Mary raised 6 kids here in northwest Montana, and did so on a very tight budget. They lived for several years with no electricity or running water while they were working on their home, and she learned how to deal with just about any situation that would come along (and there can be a lot when you're raising 6 kids!). She still continues to amaze me with her homemade ways of dealing with different situations or treating various conditions that we come across (experience is a great teacher!). Her kids (as well as other people) still call her when they find themselves facing something new, and I have never yet seen her fail to have the proper solution or treatment for whatever they need. She is a great resource!

It is not our intention here to in any way encourage you not to seek professional medical care, or to give the impression that you should take any of the remedies we suggest here against the advice of your healthcare professional. Instead, our commitment to you is to carefully research all of the remedies we provide for you on this website, but to also allow you the opportunity to share natural remedies that you or maybe someone you know have found to be effective. We will also provide you with the opportunity to share some humorous remedies you may have heard of, as well as the chance to enjoy and learn from the things others have shared as well.

We hope that you find the information on this site helpful, and we look forward to serving you as it continues to grow.
